​This handcrafted pen is made from authentic teak recovered from USS North Carolina (BB‑55), the first of the U.S. Navy’s fast battleships of the Second World War. The timber carries the strength and character of a ship that earned 15 battle stars and served across the Pacific with distinction.

The Story of USS North Carolina

Commissioned in 1941, USS North Carolina was one of the most advanced battleships of her time — fast, heavily armed, and built to project power across the vast Pacific theatre. She took part in every major naval offensive from Guadalcanal to Okinawa, protecting carriers, supporting landings, and surviving multiple near‑misses and torpedo attacks.

After the war, she was preserved as a museum ship, and during restoration work, sections of her original teak decking were carefully removed. This historic timber — weathered by salt air, sunlight, and wartime service — has now been transformed into a limited number of handcrafted pens.
