RAF Marham — Pine Pen

A Piece of RAF Heritage, Crafted for Today
This handcrafted pen is made from original pine floorboards recovered from RAF Marham, one of the Royal Air Force’s most important operational stations. The timber carries the marks, warmth, and character of a building that served generations of aircrew and ground personnel. Holding it is like carrying a preserved fragment of RAF history into everyday life.

The Story of RAF Marham
Established in 1916, RAF Marham has been at the heart of British air power for over a century. From its early days in the First World War to its modern role as the home of the F‑35B Lightning, the station has supported countless operations, aircraft types, and generations of RAF personnel.

Marham played a major role during the Cold War, operating V‑bombers such as the Victor, and later became synonymous with the Tornado GR1 and GR4 — aircraft that served in the Gulf, the Balkans, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Today, it remains one of the RAF’s most advanced and strategically important bases.

During refurbishment and modernisation work, sections of original pine floorboards were removed from historic station buildings. These boards, worn smooth by decades of boots, tools, and daily life, have now been transformed into a limited number of handcrafted pens.

Each one is a tribute to the people who served, trained, and worked at RAF Marham.

Craftsmanship & Finish

It is then finished with:

Each pen is assembled, polished, and inspected by hand to ensure a premium writing experience.
